1. a special day at bij Burgers Zoo

Enjoy the tropical temperatures in the covered jungle of Burgers' Zoo. Walk through the caves to the warmth of the desert. Discover the beauty of the mangrove. All of this is possible without encountering a single drop of rain at Burgers' Zoo. From Landgoed Ruwinkel, it takes less than half an hour to get there by car.

2. het Nationaal Militair Museum

Verkozen tot het leukste uitje van de provincie Utrecht 2023! Het Nationaal Militair Museum laat u de geschiedenis zien van alles wat met onze landsverdediging te maken heeft in een zeer imposant gebouw op de voormalige vliegbasis Soesterberg. Een must see! Maar er zijn natuurlijk nog meer musea in de omgeving om te bezoeken. 

3. Shopping in Hoog Catharijne shoppingmall Utrecht

Hoog Catharijne was the first indoor shopping mall in the Netherlands back in the 1970s. Over the years, efforts have been made to bring the shopping center up to date, and they have succeeded. From the nearby Veenendaal de Klomp station, you can be at the shopping center in just 20 minutes by train

4. Het zandsculpterenfestijn

In Garderen, you'll find the indoor sand sculpture festival. With a new theme every year, it's worth visiting annually. In certain periods every spring, you can see the artists at work - it's super fun to watch! Once the artworks are finished, you can of course just enjoy them.

5. Discover a castle

There are so many castles and palaces nearby that you can visit a different one every day. One lesser-known castle, but certainly interesting due to its rich history, is Kasteel Amerongen. You can also experience the royal life at Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn or visit the imperial residence at Huis Doorn.
