This is a great place to start discovering and exploring the Grebbelinie. Located on an old fort (Fort aan de Buursteeg) and connected to many walking and cycling trails, this is an ideal place to start exploring the Grebbelinie. The visitor center has its own museum where you can read about the historical background and find out what there is to see in the region. This museum is definitely worth a visit.
This fascinating museum is located on the border between the municipalities of Scherpenzeel and Woudenberg, where the nearby Valleikanaal canal forms part of our country's defense system: the Grebbelinie. If you are interested in the history of the villages of Woudenberg, Scherpenzeel, and Renswoude, a visit is highly recommended.
What came first, the chicken or the egg? The Food Valley, and Barneveld in particular, is known for its chickens. In this museum, you can watch chicks hatch from their eggs right before your eyes: how cute is that? The museum is located about ten kilometers from the Ruwinkel Estate.
At the end of 2014, the National Military Museum opened at the former military airfield in Soesterberg. It combines a number of separate museums into one large, brand-new national museum dedicated to our national security and the defense of our freedom. Here, you can admire a Dakota that served in our armed forces. The museum is located about 20 kilometers from our holiday park.
The Sound and Vision Museum is located in Hilversum's media park. The building itself is beautiful to look at. The Sound and Vision Museum tells the story of the history of radio and television. The museum is interactive: you can read the news yourself or participate in the soap opera that is being recorded. Radio recordings are also made regularly and broadcast live. Everyone is amazed!
What could be more fun than taking the train to Utrecht (from nearby Veenendaal de Klomp, you can reach Utrecht Central Station in 25 minutes) to discover the history of the railways there. With a number of interactive elements, it is also an attractive museum for older children.
Walking through the woods, you can take a look back into the past: this is the open-air museum in Arnhem. You walk from farm to farm, and suddenly you find yourself in Amsterdam's Jordaan district! The open-air museum is a real experience for young and old alike and can be visited all year round.
